about
Recorded at The Aviary Studios in Abbotsford, Victoria by Matthew Hosking, 'Alibi' is about a relationship burning out, when the mundane has well and truly overshadowed the magical, but you're still stuck in it.
To celebrate the signing and new single, Lowtide will be playing a single launch August 25 at The Northcote Social Club with special guests No Sister and Great Outdoors!
The band are also heading out on a European tour this August playing a plethora of amazing shows including End Of The Road Festival, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever supports and their own headlines, as well as an in-store performance at Rough Trade East. The band are now also working with UK label Opposite Number who will be flying the Lowtide flag EU side.
Lowtide’s self-titled debut album was released via Lost & Lonesome in July 2014 which truly defined Lowtide’s sound and was met with critical acclaim. The band has since embarked on national tours, been nominated for The Amp (Australian Music Prize), received international support via BBC 6 Music, KCRW and Opposite Number and played multiple festivals.
We are excited to deliver more melodic atmospheric beauty from Lowtide and ask you to stay tuned for more touring dates and news soon...
Play it tall and loud people.
“Instead of banking purely on swirling guitar effects, Lowtide exploit rhythm and space. A perfect mix of the driving and drifting, with songs changing shape right before our ears." - Rolling Stone
“There is a synthesis of aural texture and melodic sensibility on Lowtide’s long-awaited debut album that’s so compelling it verges on hypnotic.” - The Age
“Having not seen them before but only having only heard good things, it is quickly apparent to all in attendance that they do not just live up to the hype but surpass it completely.” - Tone Deaf

This is the most peaceful, amazing album of it's genre I have heard (it reminds me a little of DIIV's first album sometimes, but better)! It is official, I am moving to Australia just because of this band and the amazing music scene there! Charlie Mayer
